Vacation Time with Friends

I've shared family time while on vacation but a larger amount of time was spent with our friends, Jason and Patty. We have known Patty since before John and I were married and before she married Jason. There is actually just a few months difference in our anniversaries. However, we had let our friendship lag until last year when they came out to a gate that we were working. This was the first time I had met Jason. Since then we have been to Lake Jackson to see them a few times. They are such great fun to hang out with.

We spent a couple of evenings on the beach with them having chili dogs one night and manburgers another. It was rather chilly on the beach in the evening so we lit a fire in the chimenea and roasted marshmallows. Jason had to work most of the week and John had a meeting to go to on one day while we were there, so Patty and I got together and did some shopping at the local mall.

She helped me pick out John's birthday gift, which he enjoyed very much.

We very much enjoyed hanging out with them and their two boys - always a good time! Our last night of vacation was spent with Jason, John and Patty fishing and me just sitting by the water and relaxing. Of course before we could head out to fish we had to stop for bait.

This particular shop I thought was cute, being shaped like a boat. The lady who worked there was very friendly as well.

Then we headed out to fish and watch the sunset over the water.
