Pigs in a Blanket - On Steroids

This is a recipe that was given to me by a coworker back when I was in juvenile corrections. I have not made it in a long time, I don't know why just so many recipes to try and so little time I guess. These pigs in a Blanket are larger than most, but still smaller than the ones my coworker made the first time I ever had them made this way - with biscuit dough rather than regular bread dough. This is one the hubby loves and he was very glad I dusted this recipe off and made it again. It is very simple, as most of my recipes are and good "man food".

2 1/4 bisquick mix
2/3 cup milk
5 sausage links

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix bisquick and milk together in a medium bowl. Turn out onto floured surface and knead, adding extra bisquick or flour if needed.
Divide dough into five portions. Yes, I know my portions are not all the same size
but then neither are my sausage links. Flatten a portion of dough slightly.
Place a sausage link in the middle. Then wrap the dough around the link and seal the edges closed.
Place on foil-lined baking sheet that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake for 12 - 16 minutes or until dough is done and lightly browned on tops.
Serve and enjoy!
Served with Chipotle Corn Salsa.

  1. Idk why I've never thought to make pigs in a blanket with sausage .... definitely a manly meal! I have an unnatural love of Bisquick, too! We really should try this :)
