Candy Corn Marshmallow Ghosts

I pinned this recipe a few weeks ago and didn't think I'd ever actually make it since I don't usually do cutsie stuff like this. Well as part of the fall festival here at the RV park there was supposed to be a dessert decorating contest and I thought of this. Well the contest did not happen as all desserts were immediately devoured but I think mine would have one as it was the only decorated dessert present. The pumpkin pie eating contest also did not happen since everyone was stuffed from the wonderful pot luck dinner and did not want to participate, lol. It was all great fun, complete with a bonfire and hayride through the lower park area.  These marshmallows were a hit with everyone oohing and aahing over how cute they were. I pinned these Candy Corn Marshmallow People at Knead to Cook. Super simple and too cute to resist!

30 large marshmallows
yellow and red food dye
12 oz white chocolate chips
black gel icing
milk

Melt white chocolate in microwave adding milk one tablespoon at a time to reach desired consistency for dipping (In my microwave it took two minutes at 60% power, after one minute; then one minute at high power, stirring after 30 seconds). *Add yellow food coloring to white chocolate until desired shade of yellow is reached. Remember the color will deepen as it sets so I went a little light. By the time we got to the party both colors were much darker.
Dip marshmallows 1/2 way up in the yellow chocolate and set aside.
Then add the red food coloring to the white chocolate to make it orange - I also had to add additional yellow - keep adding a little of each at a time until chocolate is the shade of orange you want. Dip marshmallows in chocolate a second time, going only 1/4 of the way up this time.
Add two black dots on top part of marshmallow (the part that has not been dipped in chocolate) for eyes. Serve and enjoy!

*If you want your marshmallows to look more like actual candy corn the orange should go halfway up, then the yellow. To do this, after melting the chocolate divide in half. Color one half orange and the other half yellow.
