Our time off got off to a fast start last Tuesday when we had to take our Nissan Cube in to have repairs done, a couple of weeks back we had been rear ended by a very nice young man - with no insurance. When we took the car in we thought we were just going to get an assessment since our policy did not cover a rental. After arriving, we found out that under uninsured motorist coverage it DID cover a rental. So we left it for what we thought would be a few days.
The next day we headed to Manvel, south of Houston, for a visit with the eldest daughter and granddaughter.
We had a wonderful visit and great Mexican food and a place our daughter recommended - Don Picos. Always a treat to see the grandbabies!
Thursday was spent relaxing and resting at the RV Park. Then Friday we headed for Lake Jackson to spend the weekend with friends. We had a great time - eating, shopping and visiting Galveston beach!
Our first night there we drove along one of the local beaches and John was determined to catch crabs, LOL! We left Lake Jackson Monday morning and headed for Tyler, spent a couple of hours there then scooted over to Brownwood for a quick visit with John's folks. We left from there Tuesday and thought we would spend Wednesday relaxing before John went back to work on Thursday. Well as life would have it, it didn't turn out quite like that. Our car was finished, finally, so we had to go pick that up as well as several other things that popped up that needed our attention. That has been our week, lots of fun and still lots of family we didn't make it by to see but since we will have weekends off now we can take care of that a little at a time.

How funny, we have been crisscrossing Texas also, we are in Abilene right now but we left Las Cruces Saturday and spent the week with our daughter in Houston this week.
