Blackbeard's

After 3-4 hours of touring the Lexington, climbing up and down stairs that were more like ladders, John and I had worked up a pretty good appetite. Not too far from the Lexington we found Blackbeard's. A wonderful seafood place with a fun atmosphere.

Despite the claim that the place was haunted the food was YUMMY!
We started with an appetizer of Fried Gator Tail served with Swamp Sauce. The gator tail was yummy and had a little kick of spice. The swamp sauce was supposed to be sweet and spicy but all we tasted was the sweet. It was still good enough that both of us were trying to figure out the ingredients. All we know for sure is honey and the waitress tipped us off that it had cilantro. Soo good!
I ordered the Baja Tacos and John ordered the fried shrimp. Then we shared. The sauce on the taco was really good but also really messy. I ended up using my fork to eat the taco. Grilled tilapia with fresh slaw, baja sauce, sour cream and guacamole. The fried shrimp was the best I've had in a long time. I will have to remember this place next time we are in the area.

Of course we couldn't get out of there before John got into trouble - AGAIN.
Don't worry, he got out of this one too! Great food + good fun = excellent day!
